Kaleköy, historically known as Kastro, is a vibrant coastal village on Gökçeada that perfectly blends rich ancient history with a lively seaside atmosphere. The village is divided into two distinct parts: Upper Kaleköy, home to the ancient Iskiter Castle ruins, and Lower Kaleköy, a bustling harbor area.

Located on the northeastern coast of the island, it is recognized as one of the oldest inhabited settlements on Gökçeada. Lower Kaleköy comes alive during summer nights with its waterfront promenade, charming fish restaurants, cafes, and lively bars.

From the hilltop castle ruins in Upper Kaleköy, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view and catch the island's most famous sunset. The village port, originally constructed by the French Navy during WWI, now serves as a peaceful shelter for fishing boats and private yachts.
